Come check out the Packard Proving Grounds, a site rich in Detroit’s automotive history. Established in 1927 by The Packard Motor Car Company, this unique site hosts multiple Albert Kahn designed buildings, located on 14 acres at 49965 Van Dyke Ave in Shelby Township, Michigan.
We offer free tours on Saturdays, preferably by appointment -though no appointments are necessary. Please be patient if multiple couples show up at the same time as we like to give personal tours when you visit the site.
We also offer free historic tours at 11am every Saturday from May 9th through October 24th, so if you would like to learn more about the history of the site, come on out and go on a historic tour and feel free to bring your friends and relatives.
Local Farmer's Market
Visit the Shelby Farmers Market, which is held on the front lawn, Saturdays in May-Oct, at 9am-2pm. Natural, Handmade, & Organic Items.
From November through April, site tours are available from 10am-2pm, when the Amish Farmer’s Market is held in the car port next to the lodge garage on the north side
